Model NATO

Carleton Model NATO is an annual student-run and organized conference/simulation hosted by Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in Ottawa, Canada. The annual event takes place every winter in the nation’s capital. The unique four-day conference/simulation brings together over 100 students from across Canada to debate the most pressing transatlantic and international security issues.

The core of the event is an intensive and immersive two-day simulation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization decision-making and crisis management. By assuming the role of NATO member state representatives, students gain a rich and unique understanding of Alliance politics, priorities and challenges facing NATO as well as a much deeper understanding of critical international security issues and their solutions. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to attend this wonderful simulation, where I learned a great deal about foreign relations and policies!

Forum Étudiant

Le Forum étudiant consiste en une simulation parlementaire pour les jeunes du collégial. Cette activité leur permet :

• De comprendre les bases du fonctionnement des institutions parlementaires.

• D'acquérir des habiletés en communication orale et écrite.

• De développer certaines aptitudes intellectuelles et civiques.

• D'accroître leur intérêt envers la vie citoyenne.

• D'approfondir, au contact de spécialistes de l'Assemblée nationale, leurs connaissances sur :

• la procédure parlementaire ;

• le processus législatif ;

• le fonctionnement d'un État démocratique.

Grâce à cette expérience, j'ai pu consolider les apprentissages de mon cours collégial de politique ainsi qu'en apprendre énormément plus sur la politique québécoise. Lors de cette semaine, j'ai pu siéger au Salon Bleu et représenter un ministre. Je suis éternellement reconnaissante pour cette opportunité et conseille le Forum à ceux qui veulent en apprendre plus sur la politique tout en s'amusant!

Champlain Model UN

CCMUN is Champlain Model UN's annual conference.

One of the first conferences of the academic year in the Montreal circuit, CCMUN welcomes CEGEP and high school students from all over Quebec, to partake in enticing and beginner-friendly committees. (https://www.champlainmodelun.org/about-us)

During this 2 day Model UN simulation, I participated in the Specialized Agency Committee named Woodstock 29. In this activity, I played the role of Marcus Vega, and as a delegate, I had to negotiate through difficult situations and form partnerships. This truly was an enriching Model UN where I gave my 110% and received the Honorable Mention prize.
